How can I use my diffuse map to color my fibermesh and export it with color?

I have completed a very detailed sculpt of my dog, and the coloring is perfect.

I want to now add fibers for fur, and use my existing colormap to color the fibers, and then export to render in either Maya or Keyshot while using that color map.

Is this possible? I can’t find any resources online to help. Thanks.

the way I did is I used the color map from the dog itself as the color map for the fur, usually fur plugins have 2 slots for the color, base and tip, I used the same texture for both.
in case of keyshot I am not sure, but I believe it will take whatever color is on the fibermesh in zbrush.
