As title said, in Zbrush3.1, can i setup the uv group from polygroup?
Or…how can i set up a uv group in 3.1?
Thanks, i know the Quiz a kind of stupid… but…please help~
Hi 99530869
If I’m understanding u correctly then follow these steps:
- Turn on the frame button and lasso button
- Then using ctrl+shift click and drag around the area u want as a seperate polygroup
- Then press tool>polygroup>auto groups button
- Your selected mesh will turn a different colour
- Then ctrl_shift click outside of the mesh to unhide all and your mesh should have different colours displaying the different polygroups
- Everytime you want to work on a certain section just ctrl+shift click on it and everything else will hide leaving the bit u need
Hope this helps mate!
Sonder!
ZBrush does not currently have the ability to assign multiple texture maps to a single SubTool. To create UV regions you would need to use a UV mapping program.
Thanks Sonder…but mightbe i am not explain well…
i mean i’ve already done the polygroup…
But i wish setup a uv-group exactly same area as my polygroup’s did. That’s why i asked can i get the Uvgroup directly from the polygroup which was already set.
Sorry…i wish this time you can understand abit…
But Thanks alot anyway…
And…Aurick, Is’t that means i have to setup a uv group b4 i import the mesh into Zbrush? Can i setup a uvgroup in ZB straigth away? I wish the future version’s can.
Thanks Guys~
You can import a new version of the model with the UV groups that you desire. Simply go to level 1, click Tool>Import, and load the new version. So long as the point order of the model hasn’t been changed, the UV’s will update successfully.
Cool~ Thanks Aurick, that’s helpful~:D

Em…now i got a new problem,
If i import a new version model, like Aurick said, that also means i have to re-brush whole model from Lv1, brand new start, isn’t it?
Can i import a new version model and keep using the detail already made in previous model?
