How can I export polypaint out of zbrush to c4d?

Hi Guys!

I was wondering if you could help me solve my problem with zbrush texture.

I sculpted a model (high poly with Dynamesh so no subdivision level to go down) and polypainted in Zbrush.

It seemed that I forgot to UV map before I finished up everything. I’d rather not do retopologize my model and sculpting the details again.

I want to export my polypaint texture to 3d studio max so I can animate.

So my question is , is there any possible way that I could export polypaint texture out of zbrush without UV? (I hope it doesnt sound stupid but yea)Please let me know if you would like to suggest other way to create uv map and export the texture.

Thank you!

your obj’s are exported with polypaint information if you have colorize turned on when export. Max simply isn’t reading it, not sure if you can get it to read it. There might be a plugin that allows max to use it.

You could always duplicate your mesh, use Zremesher, unwrap that mesh, then project all of your sculpt and polypaint data back and then export out your new mesh. Eh…my 2 cents.

Thank you for the reply.

Just one more thing, does Zremesher perform the same as Qremesher?

I use Zbrush 4R4.

You should update your ZBrush to 4R6. Updates are free to registered users.
