How can i apply rgb, zadd, or zsub to a curve that i've laid out?

Basically, I just want to lay out a Curve, then once its where I want it: add paint or sculpting to that curve
But it doenst work

I’ve tried clicking on the curve and curve ends with Curve Standard but the mesh is unchanged
I’ve made sure RGB, ZADD (etc) are on, but still no change applied to mesh
Have reset, and initialized zbrush… but no

Any ideas?
