Horse-WIP

I’ve allways wanted to model a horse from scratch so here’s my latest attempt. Base mesh was done in Lightwave then exported to ZB for some muscle sculpting ect. And i still got more things to do on it so its by no means finished…but here you go.

In this image and in others like it you’ll see that the horse’s head leans forward at a greater angle, has legs that are slightly longer, and it’s hind quarters have a much smaller diameter. These modifications should enhance the realism of the work.

So far it looks like you’re still in the rough stages and I’d be interested to see the completed model.

Thanks for the reply Gumpshmee. In reply to your comment about head being too high, i completely agree with you.
The model is only like this because i was following ref images where the head and neck are posed in a unnatural way. I do plan on putting bones on him and giving him some interesting poses

This is the ref i have been using and you can see the head is high just like mine :stuck_out_tongue:

An update ive decided to rebuild it alittle realising some of the proportions were off.

It’s looking more like a donkey than a horse. The legs and the neck are looking too short right now. There are also strange “bulging” areas like before the neck, the knees the traisition between the front legs and the body. The hind legs are looking far too fat/wide. How the muscles look is important since horses (usually) have very pronouncend muscles. You could probably make the head a bit bigger and turn on the perspective view when taking screenshots, it would help the people commenting.
