A Spectacular work in every way --Maybe your best so far- hard to judge since you do such fine work on a regular basis !! I bet money this goes right to the opening page of the ZBrush website–in the Pixologic hall of fame gallery --totally beautiful work…

This is a sort of step-by-step, mostly intended for those who want to see the painting method I used, who might not be familiar with the traditional method of painting…Which is great to do in ZBrush.
As I said, I’ll be starting a ‘No ZAdd, one Layer’ thread, and this might give some ideas on methodology…
Since I posted so many images, use this as an outline, and fill in the blanks from the thread. :wink:

This shows the background painting, and the geometry introduction using the old ruler-on tablet deal…Note that even in the first stage, it’s a good idea to throw in something to show light and shadow roughly…

This shows the method, and progression for adding the figures…I call the one on the right, ‘coloring book’ mode… :wink:

And finally, these show you the way I bounce around while keeping each figure in mind, finishing each seperately. When I have them all roughly together, I start tweeking the features…The more observant will notice I actually turned heads, moved noses, and changed expressions as I developed a view of the situation the characters were involved in…

I hope this contributes to some experimentation in the 2D use of ZBrush…You might find it useful in modelling and texture to practise the traditional painting skills, and at the least, it’s a hell of a lot of fun…! :smiley:

Michael, This has been fun to watch you develop, and you ended up with such a wonderful image. It’s poster time for this one. This image is reminiscent of so many styles, Classical, Art Nouveaux, Impressionism, etc. If you keep this up you could come up with your own unique style. Very beautiful and inspiring :+1:
