I know this may seem like a silly question, but I can’t figure this out for the life of me. My last question was answered very quickly, so I thought my best shot would be posting here.
I’m modeling a blade, and in the center I’d like to place four oblong holes all the way through the model,to act as “blood drains”. Originally, I just masked the four shapes on both sides using symmetry, inversed the mask and tried to use Zsub and a few types of brushes to just “eat through” the blade. Of course, this just left me with a thin layer of mottled polygons near the bottom of the hole.
Next, after some research, I found there was a “hide points” option. I tried this, but my holes came out very blocky, and I couldn’t seem to smooth this. Additionally, when looking through the holes made via the hide points, the interior of the model looks empty, and I see no option to turn on double sided polys.
So more or less, how can I create holes in a model that go all the way through? I know I must be over looking something simple, but I can’t figure out what I should do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
