Holes in mesh?

Hi

Starting from a Terrain3D, I’ve tried to sculpt a rock face but have come across two problems:

  1. Holes have appeared in the mesh (see pict, highlighted white)
  2. In on area, the outline of the underlying quads is showing (highlighted blue).

No amount of smoothing, flattening to clay-ing will remove the problems.

Can anyone suggest any fixes, I’m happy with the mesh otherwise, and would prefer not to try and replicate from scratch.

It might happen on thin meshes… Turn on BackfaceMask under Brush.

Thanks very much, that does indeed seem to have caused the problem. From now on when working with Terrain planes, I’ll make sure it’s on from the start. :slight_smile:
