Holding Shift key and right click menu issues. Color Picker hotkey? [Answered]

Hi,
I don’t know if it comes from my computer or not, but if I have an hotkey including shift key and I want to toggle a command by holding shift and pressing the associated key (e.g: Shift+L, holding shift and hiting L two times), the second time shift is not taken into account.
I have to release shift and redo the Shift+Key combination.

There is a way to just hold shift and press the second key without having to release shift and repress it?

And an other question, when I right clic and select a menu, (brush or subtool) the menu disappear depending on the area of my right clic, it seems that while triggering the menu it doesn’t appear right under my cursor so it disappear instantly.
I have to right click on the lower left part of the screen to be sure that my menu will be under my cursor and won’t disappear.

There is a way to prevent that?

And the last one, how can I assign an hotkey to the color picker aswel as the color chooser (the palette that open when you click on your Main color swatch)?

  1. If you assign a hotkey with a modifier key (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) to a plugin button then you will need to lift the key between repeated keystrokes. I think for non-plugin items it should be OK.

  2. I don’t think there’s a way to adjust that distance. What might work for you is to use the Spacebar instead - if you hold down the Spacebar the quick menu stays visible, wherever the cursor is.

  3. There’s no way (that I could find) to get assign a hotkey the color chooser. Assigning a hotkey to any of the color choosers, or the swatches, will always change the hotkey for the color picker (default ‘C’). Probably your best solution is to use the quick menu color chooser instead.

HTH,

Thank you Marcus.

About the shift issue, it doesn’t work with a non plugin shortcut.
The ctrl key works but not the shift key.

Which interface item?

A macro, I made a toggle button for toggling Flat Render.
When assigning a hotkey with shift I have to releas shift everytime.

Ah, OK. I should have mentioned a macro is subject to the same limitation as plugins. Default UI items are OK.
