I’m stumped. I went to use a clip brush where it told me to hold down ctrl and shift. But that’s the command for hide/show areas? I need to use that ability but it just switches to the clip tool. Can anyone please explain what’s going on? I’m sure it’s something daft on my part 
OK, hold shift and ctrl and then click on the brush selector at top. You would normally have the rectangular selection tool there now. Select the other brush needed. You have to use the modifier keys to use the ‘new brush’. HTH
Ah I see what’s going on here. For now I’m ok with holding those buttons and selecting either a clip brush or the rectangle depending on what I need. Thanks for making it more clear Doug!
When you are in clipping curve mode holding Shift+Ctrl +drag you will be painting your curve. But if you release your Shift+Ctrl and press again Ctrl you will notice you switched back to rect selecion mode. If want back to curve mode just press Ctrl again .
