Help

Hi Poda,
sorry maybe is because my english … the positive and negative values is possible to change in layer visibility slider. So when you ones have created dispMap, you create a new layer and then apply the dispMap to mesh. So now you can set the intensity of this layer. 2 is 200% and -1 is -100% of layer contend intensity. Hope is clear now.

Your piece really captured a strong sense of narrative! Great work.

Hey Svjeetam,
Your English is just fine! Understood what you did. I just do not understand why you are doing it. What do you need the positive and negative versions of the displacement map for?

Ok, the minus value was just for illustration, like what is possible. In this case, i wasnt happy with visual of the structure, espetialy with hardnes, intensity of structure on balaclavas in the relation to whole composition. I felt like is too soft detail. So i used this trick to increase intensity of structure. Somebody asked me how i did the balaclavas, so i did this review.
But, generaly, this is very usefull trick. You can very easily work with plasticity on your model. You can use it local, if you use mask tool, or copy subtool and projection tool. Is just cool trik for experiment.
Here are few screens for demonstrate on example. As you can see the value 3 gave very expressive result. That may be usefull in some case.

Wooooow,looks amazing man.like it.:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Really thoughtful technique, it gives a very stylized and artistic feel to the sculpt. Thanks for sharing!

that is all kinds of awesome! Great mood, pose and design!

Svjeeta, I get it now. Thank you very much for taking the time to re-explain! I thought it was part of some bigger process… Instead, it’s a way to push, reduce or change specific sculpt details. Great idea!

Is there a chance you could show us the UVs of the head? I’ve love to see it.

 nothing special, just used UV master plug from zbrush. Set seams from AO. I used it only for this push effect, so wasnt important to have it oprimized.

Amazing work,man!:+1:

this is fantastic. i’ve been really stunned by the work you put up lately.
what brushes do you use, if you have any you use more than others?

Man… awesome! Love it!

Hi, thanks. What about brushes …
I like …

Move brush - This brush is my most used brush, all the time I corect shapes from many different views with this brush.

Standart brush - i use it only for building big shapes. But somethimes i use it similar like Dam brush for line detailing. In this case i set brush modifier on 100 and increase intensity. Is good when you havent good resolution on mesh for stroke details.

Dam brush - this brush i love more and more. I use it for build and detailing. In last time i start to use it like ink paint, for something like lineation on surface of model, very similar like on comic line ink picture. It can add detail and is dinamic.
Is cool for final strokes. With biger brush looks good to stab points, looks very final like because of big gradient it has in alpha.

Polish brush - I thing this is tipical in my proces of work … i enjoy modeling like from clay. So years ago i used for this clay brush. But in some new release of zbrush update, pixologic changed setting of this brush, so i had to experiment with and find this very cool setting: so its basic polish brush, with brush modifier -100, intensity 100 and with clear round alpha. This brush is cool for forgeting on time. Is good for details and build too.

Smoot stronger - i dont change resolution of mesh very offen durring modeling. So this brush is good for safe my grip pen.

Clay build - like sharpnes of this brush, good for build

Inflat and Pitch I use quite offen.

Trim Adaptive + square alpha … i use for rock like effect, or just put to organic structure interesting hard shaped detail.

So this are my favorit brushes, maybe nothing special

Absolutely brilliant. Sorry if you already mentioned but how many hours was this sculpt?

Hi I dont know exactly, because I worked on it in my free time, like relaxing, and befor finish i spend 1 week on it, so I guess around 14 days.

This is the most amazing concept i have ever seen for a while great work

Awesome work

Great stuff! Also, thanks for all the info and tips, very, very helpful.
