Help with ztool model

I am not sure what I did wrong with the model could someone take a look at it and tell me what I did wrong - using Z2 on pc.
I can not get the model ztool to accept materials and I can not get the zadd to work on it when in edit draw and I can not get adapative skin to apply without distortion and I can not divide the model without distortion of the model and I can not get layer to work on it in edit.
Tried uploading a jpeg image of the model but image upload is not working

EDITED
And I tried making it into a polymesh 3d and it distorts

EDITED
I got the edit draw to work at size 64 and up - distortion at that brush size

EDITED
The default materials apply but only with a solid color so I went to tools textures and pressed all the buttons nothing then pressed the uv and it applied an messed up texture but when I went back and tried applying the default materials they applied ok

Thanks
TIA

well, first i tried to divide and i noticed once i did that your model split apart, some of the vertices arent connect it seems, also i did a check UV and that seemed to come up bad, but once i did a AUV tiles i could paint on it, i didnt have too much trouble scultping on it but its such a low poly count that you need to have that zadd up high to notice any results. honestly if this was me i’d just start over, its still in the very early stages.
how did this model come about? primitive or zphere or something else?

As I learn Zbrush I have been importing some models in different shapes in primitives then use Z2’s tools deformation tools to design them then use the edit draw and edit to detail them. Make Polymesh 3D then divide has been giving me models that I could detail onto. Didn’t work on this one so I thought I had done someting to the model with the deformation tools that was not letting me detail onto the model.
BTW Thanks for the reply

Weird. It seems to have triangles. Here is a fix.

Export as OBJ with these settings.

Then re-import.

And here is an image that I then divided - looks OK.

I tried working with the geometry divide buttons - in orange by the divide button and then used the Divide button an Z2 displayed a note to lower ploy count or change MEM settings.
I changed the Max PolyperMesh
Perference
Mem
Max PolyperMesh
and the model accepts the edit draw and the edit transform layer and fine details
Z2 running slow which I think with more cpu memory it would run faster

Thanks Jason
I was posting while you where posting
I’ll try your work around

Thanks Jason
I tried your work around and it gives something to work on for details.

I then tried the import settings you gave again and made a polymesh 3D from it and it retained most of the org details

Then I tried:
"I tried working with the geometry divide buttons - in orange by the divide button and then used the Divide button an Z2 displayed a note to lower ploy count or change MEM settings.
I changed the Max PolyperMesh

And got very close to the org model but the poly count makes it run slow on my computer - cpu needs more men I think

Glad to help.

Ran into this way back in the previous version of Zbrush, when I was given some creature models done in another app.

RAM helps anything you are working on, renders take processor power, in general. Aurick posted some steps to optimize your system awhile back.
