Help with Zmodeler bridge

I am trying to use the Zmodeler bridge tool to connect hands and feet to the body, when I unfreeze the SubDivision levels this happens. I’ve tried to duplicate and projectAll and the same thing would happen. Ive also bridged them on the highest subdivision level after deleting lower and the model seems to get decimated from 10mill to 2 mill. Any ideas?!

Hello @CY_K

This is most likely an issue with the setting in Preferences> Geometry > ZModeler Welding Tolerance. Reduce that setting to a minimum value, and see if it corrects the issue. You can then store the config (preferences > Config> Store Config) for the setting to be remembered at startup.

If that doesn’t correct the issue, it may also be a problem with the size of your mesh. If your mesh has a Tool> Geometry> Size > XYZ of significantly less than 2, you may experience unintentional point welding even with the above setting at a minimal value.

Thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately neither worked

What is probably happening is that you’re trying to project detail on your mesh from a state before any detail existed in that area. You’re projecting the detail from when your mesh had no geometry between the hands and arms, so it believes the farthest point in that area is the hips, not the wrists.

You will have to mask that area prior to projecting to keep it from changing.

The previous points I made address your issue with the mesh “decimating” when you attempt to bridge at high resolution.
