Help with subtle high detailing on a sofa!

Hi everybody!

Im currently trying too create a sofa in zbrush. But im having a difficult time getting all the details too show up correctly, due to the models topology. How can i even out the sofas topology? but still reatain the semi hard edges on it? Its when im trying to create the seams on the sofa and the surface structure that i am having problems getting it right. In some areas the detail is turning out great but in others its just not enough with polys too achieve the result im looking for. What am I doing wrong and how should I tackle this problem? This problem also applies to polypaint and spotlight. So my question is basicly how do i even out my polys over my 3d model so that i have enough detail too get all fines details over my model? But still reatin hard areas?

Thx Zber2 the images should work now.

Your corners are OK, don’t touch those. You have to put in more edge loops, using your other 3D app, so your polygons are as square as possible. Your other alternative would be to retopologize in ZBrush to get square polygons. You wouldn’t have to worry about the sharper corners in ZBrush because you could turn off Smt in Geometry submenu for first 1 or 2 subdivides to maintain your sharper corners.
