Help with "offset Mask" ??? (2nd POST)

Hello guys,

I’m not sure what is the proper term. But I did this picture for reference in Illustrator so I can try to show you what I mean. The darker area indicates the type of mask that I want for extraction. I tried different methods but I can’t get it to work?

Can anyone help? This will help me a great deal.

Thanks in advance.

is this some sort of spam? i’ve seen this posted 3 times already, and i know someone posted a way for you to do it as well.

Hi,

What somebody else said didn’t work for me. Or maybe I didn’t know how to do it since im still fairly new. But why should i go to another program and create an alpha mask if this is what the suggestion means? Besides what if I had a more complex shape in Zbrush. Do I really have to go to another program to make an offset of the same shape inside the bounderies of the mesh?

In addition, the mesh shape I did in Zbrush with squares masks. pain the ass. I tried using the same mesh and resizing it, but does not give me the offset shape within the mesh.

Help Please???

fine, but its not good form to start a new thread exactly the same, why not just post in your previous thread, it comes off as a child throwing a tantrum on the floor.
have you tried masking by texture, topological masking, painting the mask on, creating an alpha from your model by grab doc, then using the alpha adjustments to make it smaller, these are a few ways.
also you might get more help if you posted your actual model, seeing that it needs a particular type of mask.

spaceboy is correct. Please ask for additional help in the original thread. Thanks.
