help with multiple sculpting

Hi Everyone,

ive been sculpting a scorpion and now its time to sculpt the legs and realized its going to be alot of work… is there anyway where i can sculpt one leg and have it do the same to the other legs? other than sculpting one and duplicating and reposing the legs … they have already been posed in maya also they share the same UV

Thank you in advanced

Well you can easily sculpt two legs at a time via symmetry, but trying to do all at once would be a challenge. Since they have the same UV’s the only thing I can think to do would be to sculpt one and create a displacement map for it. You can then apply that map to all the legs.

if the legs share the same UV´s, why not sculpt one and duplicate and repose it? duplicating and reposing might cost you 10 min

Instancing is high on my zbrush wishlist…perfect for stuff like this, but even in a typical situation where you just have say 2 hands it would help a lot.
Currently you need to either sculpt both hands at once with symmetry, which takes unnecessary resources (doubles the polycount)
and affects how you ‘frame’ and scale the object.
Or you gotta sculpt one side and duplicate/mirror it over which isn’t ideal either, because you want visual feedback and having only one of the hands in place is distracting.

Thank you everyone for the replies seems like sculpting one and reposing is my only option … yea instancing would be really good thing to have haha
