Help with materials.

How do I put different materials to the same job. What happens is that if you placed a material (chrome) to a certain object the rest of the image also changes. I just want that certain objects have this material.
What do I do?
Thanks in advance.

This should help. :)

Thanks for the link but does not answer my concern.
:confused:

The doc at the link does explain how to do what your post asks, perhaps you could try again to explain what you’re trying to do?

in short though, to get multiple materials on a single tool, (As explained in the Painting with Materials section in the document):

  1. Choose a material that you wish to be the foundation for the object; generally the material that will be on the greatest portion of the object.
  2. turn off the Zadd/Zsub/Zcut/RGB mode buttons, and turn on M
  3. go to Color->Fill Object.
  4. Switch to a different material. Your object will retain the material that you filled.
  5. use a painting brush (Standard and Clay are examples), Make sure Zadd/Zsub/Zcut are off. Also, turn off RGB if you dont’ wish to change the color of the object. Make sure M is on. (these mode settings change per brush)
  6. Paint a portion of your model, which will now take on the properties of the new material.
  7. To return an area or the whole model to the behavior of switching material when you change the selection, paint the FlatColor material.

Thanks for the help. What happens is that English is not my mother tongue.
Now if I wanted to achieve. Thanks again.
