Help with Fibermesh and Rendering

Hi everyone

This is my first post on these forums and in traditional n00b fashion my first post is a cry for help

I’m making a character model for a university assignment using Zbrush 4r3. The character has a belt(basically a torus) which is used to extract a fibermesh from to achieve the look of a furry belt. I’ve extracted the fibers, accepted them as a subtool and groomed them in reasonable fashion to how I want them for now.

Thing is when I use BPR it doesn’t render the fibers even though it is enabled to do so under the render options. They’re there in the preview but not in the BPR :frowning: I’m new to this so maybe I’m missing a trick, I’ve searched abit and have yet to find anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I’m no expert, and pretty new to this myself, but I have two thoughts to offer:

  1. You don’t need the “Fibers” option switched on in render properties to render fibermesh – it is for the Fibers1 material.
  2. Check your Radius setting (at the bottom of the fibermesh settings panel; default is 1). If that is too low it could make the fibermesh effectively invisible when you BPR, although they’ll still be visible in preview. Even if it looks fine, bump up the radius and see if your fibers become visible – some low coverage settings can become hard to see when rendered…

Good luck!
