Help!! Pls!!!

I just downloaded Zbrush 3.0. When I run the Zbrush executable I get an error message stating Zactivator.dll is missing.

Zscript Note: Specified execute-file could not be found

[FileExecute,“ZActivator.dll”,ChecksumFile,"ZData/ZPlugs/ZActivator.dll}

The dll is in the ZData/Zplugs/ directory (definetely not missing)

I have tried doing a repair install but did not work
I have removed 3.0 from the computer and re-installed but did not work
I rebooted the computer and did not work

Any one else having this problem?

Or tell me how to run Zbrush?

P.S i have reinstalled windows and when i installed Zbrush it ran well, but after several days the arror was displayed again :frowning:

I have the same problem with ZBrush 3. I check the system specifications
of the software thinking that this need service pack 2 of windows because
my computer dont have it installed, but this dont need it.My old version of
ZBrush 2 work fine in my computer. This error message is rare because i look
this ZActivator.dll file and this exist in ZBrush 3 file. I try all the things that you do except reinstall windows .For the moment i cant reinstall windows .
Anyway if you find how to fix this problem please post in the forum. If i found
the manner to fix the problem i make the same.

Questions of this sort should really be posted in the Questions & Troubleshooting Forum where you’ll get a quicker, better reply, however for this particular issue you’re likely to get the most useful response by writing directly to [email protected].

There is one thing you might try. In the ZBrush 3 folder there is a folder named Troubleshoot Help. Run the executable in that folder to see if it solves the problem.

kabal i found how fix the problem of the ZActivator file at least for me.I run Norton Antivirus 2007,the program fix all the virus in my computer.I start ZBrush 3 and the program run now perfectly without any problems, i hope that this information help you because the error that appear in your computer
is exactly identical that i have in my computer.

Hi all,

I had the same error message after a good solid month of error free Zbrushing. I’d recently been dealing with a lot of large files and I’d just cleaned out my hard drives today and gave it all a good windows defragmenting. Then I got the error. Don’t know if the two are linked, but thats what happened. I tried restarting, running the virus scanner, then the spyware scanner and so on. No luck. Then I went to the ‘add remove programs’ section in the Control Panel and selected ‘change’ on Zbrush3 and then ‘Repair Installation’. That worked fine and I can sculpt again!

Hope that helps. If you’re a Mac user, I don’t know what the equivalent function is, but I’m sure there would be something similar.

This is a Registration question. We have found that viruses could cause this problem, you may need to scan your system. Also, delete ZActivator.dll and run a repair install of ZBrush3, but if you have a virus then it will reoccur.
