HELP PLEASE: Polypaint colors WAY dark

Hey guys i have been using zbrush for many years and have never run into this… for some reason today when i color pick in zbrush poly paint the color is a MUCH darker shade of whatever im color picking. Also my model is very very dark in general. The white here is a full white and on the model it looks gray??? Please help! Has anybody run into this and/or do you know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Also! To illustrate the “dark” im talking about: This is the same model. The image on the left was last night and the image on the right is today. No, there is not polypaint data and there is no mask on the character.

Ive closed and re-opened zbrush, left it open and created a new document… im at a loss here. Please help.

To me it looks like a change in material. Hard to say for sure though without seeing your full UI window.

have you check material?

Is it an STL imported object?
Have you noticed if unchecking the brush icon in the subtool changes anything?

Awesome! Thank you so much for that link Doug! Problem solved. Thank you others who responded for your comments. It was the same material, same scene and whatnot.

Fix: For some reason if you re-load zbrush and the first thing you do is make a primitive a polymesh 3d you can color pick correctly again. Then when you load the problem ztool it seems to have corrected itself. But if you re-load zbrush and open the problem ztool first the problem is still there.

Are you using the latest release >> ZB4R6 P2?

Hey Doug! Thanks for the reply sorry im late getting back to you. The problem got solved so i stopped watching the thread lol. Yes im up to date.
