HELP PLEASE! -Editing an OBJ imported from RHINO?!?

Hello all!
I want to edit a Rhino model made of several polysurfaces, saved as an OBJ and then imported into ZBrush, but as soon as I subdivide it, it creates gaps between my different polysurfaces. I was told there is a Rhino command to permanently join the polysurfaces and therefore avoid this.
What is it???
Please help !
thank you!!!

Not sure about Rhino functions, but you can probably use the merge or weld functions with ZBrush on import. (See the Import tap of the Tools pallet.)

Merge should collapse identical points. The Weld slider joins points within a set (small) tolerance. You might have to fiddle with the slider to get the right distance for joining.

In Rhino, I think Tools -> Polygon Mesh -> Weld would work if your curves have all been converted to Polygon meshes. Some additional ideas might be found here in prepping models for export: http://isites.harvard.edu/fs/docs/icb.topic604282.files/Tips%20for%20Users%20of%20Rhino.pdf

I have this problem too. I have to open the .obj’s in 3dMax and weld verts, then resave the obj. Now when you import in ZBrush it is all stitched up.

No point in trying to find the solution in Rhino if your mesh is hole free and good to go. Found the best way to resolve the problem is when you import into z-brush. Try pushing the weld slider up to its maximum when you use the import function located near the bottom of the right-hand menu. Also try clicking on the Mrg button…
