Hi everyone,
I have a 3d scan of a maquettes head that I now need to create different mouth shapes in Maya with and then 3d print (rapid prototype) out to create many different heads that match exactly the size of the original apart from the change in mouth shape.
The original scanned model is very detailed but obviously doesnt have the correct topology, the mesh is extremely dense and messy. I have brought this into Maya and used it as a template to create a low res model with correct topology. I have then gone back into Zbrush and loaded the original scanned model, then loaded a zsphere and utilised the rigging, topology and projection tools to project the hi res details onto the low res model with correct topology. I can then make a new adaptive skin from this. However, when I go to change the mouths shape in Maya on the low res model, for example now open as opposed to the original closed shape, when I go to project the details in Zbrush it leaves holes in the mesh where the mouth is now open.
How can I project the hi res details from the original scan onto low res models with various mouth shapes and have the mouth/lips etc all flow as they should do?
Please forgive me for not posting images to illustrate the problem but the maquette is confidential.
