Dear Zbrushers,
Hi everyone, I am new to the Zbrush family, I work as a 3D Animator and just recently been using Zbrush for it’s powerful solutions, and just recently encountered a problem that I’d hope finding a solution to that here.
The issue is as follows: I had saved a .ZPR project file at home (I needed to keep the layers and Morph targets as I needed to make changes and also I’d like to keep the blend shapes in case they are required to be changed), using Zbrush with a separate purchase (different serial) than the ones I use at work. The project file is about 700mbs, which is large I know. The problem is that when I try to open that project at work, it loads successfully, but with a blank document, with no tools or anything editable, same as you initialize Zbrush.
Both are Zbrush 4r7 p1, with no version nor setting indifferences.
Finding a solution online did not yield much results, but one suggests that before saving as .ZPR, I needed to keep the file as small as possible, by having all the ztools on it’s lowest subdivision before saving, which I did not do. Another suggests compacting the mem to 4096 before opening, but did not work for me.
Any of you kind hearts would provide a solution to such a case would be deeply appreciated.
To my limited knowledge, I would theorize one of three possibilities that may have caused this. One is that different Zbrush with different serials would not read .ZPR files saved with another’s’ serial. Two is that the project (.ZPR) contains files saved on the local document folder (Zbrush resources folder) that I am unaware of that needed to be copied over to the new computer in order to successfully load the project with everything intact. And finally three is that I believe when saving a too large .ZPR would result in the file being corrupt and unreadable, then it would be quite painful for me that I had no choice but to restart from an much earlier save.
