Help! my color texture looks stretched and distort.

Hi everyone, I’m new around here and so if i posted this in the wrong section please move this thread to the right section. THanks

I attached an image with descriptions to show you guys/gals my problems. PLease help me out on this if you know how to resolve it, many thanks!!

The problem is your UV texture coordinates. Instead of using the UVs from the existing OBJ, drip your zTool to subd 1, export that and unwrap. Then you cna reimport the UVS back onto the subd level one. hit color to texture and you are good to go.:+1:
good luck!

THanks fluxist8070 for the reply, i have done what you said and it is still giving me the same problem, the color map texture still looks stretched and distorted in the low res model :frowning:

Like i said in the description in the image snapshot, i don’t think it’s the UV problem because the normal map texture looks fine, the circle details still looks round and not stretched like in the color map. So if it’s the uv that is causing the problem, the normal map texture would look messed up like the color texture which is not the case here…

this problem is killing me, i spent like days on it and still couldn’t figure out what is causing it, do you think it might be the subdivide modifier that is causing this problem?? I subdivided the mesh using the smooth function, should i leave it off instead???

THanks in advance

Do you have uvs enabled right now? If you do, (check under the texture sub menu under the Tool pallette.) if “disable uvs” is active then click it. At this point you may have to do some coloring over where the color looks stretched, but maybe not. Next, take the model to subd level 1 and export it and unwrap the UVS again and then import them. Be sure not to stretch individual uvs too much as it can cause stretching on your texture sometimes. You can leave smt on, but i would suggest turning off smoothuv if yo uhave that turned on.

THanks fluxist8070 for helping me out on this, your method works!!

THank you so much, have a nice day, bye
