Help me repeat a useful Transparency bug [Answered]

The following took place in zbrush 4r4 p2:
I was working on a project where I was trying to match a 2d concept in 3d as pixel perfect as I could. I am aware of the mesh opacity options under the Texture> Image Plane> Reference views, but somehow on my last project, I was able to super impose my concept on the background with a grid and best of all, when I hit the trasnp button, my main subtool became transparent. I was then able to make it more transparent under the preferences> draw menu. This allowed me to match the concept much easier, quicker, and clearer than using the mesh opacity. I’ve been told that this is a bug, and have been unsuccessful in trying to duplicate the effect on my other projects, but this would be an extremely useful feature.

If this isn’t a bug and you do know a way I can replicate this effect please share with me! Here is my zpr if you would like to see exactly what I was able to do. Concept is by Yu Cheng Hong.

You should consider the new Grid Options in ZBrush 4R5. Pay particular attention to “Fill Mode” option 3. It will give you the best transparency. See also Grids and Reference Images.
