Alright everything is cool , but there is something…
Try hitting the AAHalf button or by pressing [Ctrl+0]
Then try exporting the image and you’ll see a difference.

Hi doron, very nice weathered old Gringo and a well done hat. The hat seems a bit too bight to me, like there should be a shadow underneath, maybe too much ambience in the material, or did you use Zmode on Shadow settings? for what my 2 cents is worth. Great job. 50.

thank you guys

kid - i did use Zmode in the hat. but why should that make the shadow under the hat go away???
i thought Zmode just take the unsean surfaces into calculations. am i right?

I like the grizzled weather worn character…I think the hat would probably benefit from a bit of dirtying up too…not so symmetrical either unless of course he’s got his sunday best on and he’s headed to a box social;)

You might want to think about coloring him up and then doing a black and white view too…for kicks…it might help you with lighting him and his hat up so they seem like they belong together rather than pieces pasted together lit differently.

A great start though and I would like to see where ya take him!!

tnx amintus

but what do you mean about coloring it up?
you mean more bright colors for him so he can match the brightness of the hat?
or did you mean use a texture insted of a materila? (cos i did)

as for the b&w - is ther a reasone to change the colors in Zbrush, or i can just greyscale it in photoshop?

one last thing - why isnt ther a shadow on the buttom side of the hat even thou i used Zmode?

one more thing…

does anyone have a nice backgroud to go with this? (a desert horizen or an old town or something in a cartoonish styl)
