Help finding things.

I’m real green when it comes to ZBrush, and have returned to it once again after owning it for over a year, and walking away. I’m back and hope to utilze the experiences and talents of all of you here, and maybe create some good friendships along the way.

I have a basic question about ZBrush 3.1 today, that i didnt really know what to search under - and yes i did look in the FAQ already.

When I subdivided a ztool, and zoomed in on it, it became pixelated to the point where it was impossible to work on. I then backed up and tried scaling it, but it seemed to do the same thing. My graphics card is not powerful, but is adequate. I am starting my learning this time around with painting on a model, and using zapplink and zmapper tools - my current focus - so if i zoom in on a head, i want to be able to see.

And if there is a beginner section here - i sure did miss it coming in, and apologize for taking up time and space with these newbie questions…
Help!

Thanks for moving this. I did see in my wanderings today someone else mention about Jaggedness, so i searched for the word jagged and am glancing through them - still looking for a solution/explanation…

Zooming the canvas is exactly the same as enlarging a photograph. It pixelates.

Scaling the model itself is exactly what you need to do.

If you look on the right shelf you’ll see a column of buttons. The top set are for canvas control. The bottom set only become available when a model is in Edit mode. These can be used to move, scale and rotate the model itself.
