Help Exporting from Z Brush for Element 3D - Assigning different materials to one OBJ

Hello,

Reaching out for help on this. I know with Maya I could apply different materials to different parts of my model, then export it as one OBJ. Element 3D would read those different materials and allow mw to apply different materials to the model in After Effects. Z Brush is not letting me do this. Anyone done this successfully? Do I MRGB fill the different subtotals with different materials? Tried this with no luck. Please advise!

Thanks

Element 3D used to support FBX import, but I hear they yanked it. That would have been the way to go. What you might try is enabling “Grp” in “Tool > Export”. That will export each polygroup as a separate item in the OBJ file.

Thank you! Will try again.

Tried this again and still no luck. Must be one little setting. But it is not working. If anyone else has a workflow for this please let me know.
