Help! Everything became invisible?! What am I missing?

Somehow, when working with my mesh, everything became invisible. All of my subtools!

When I turn on transparency, all of my geometry is still there. Turning on transparency is the only way I can see anything.

Nothing is masked or hidden.

I thought something had gone wrong with my project file, so I saved the mesh as a new Ztool, restarted Zbrush, and inserted it into a new document. I still can’t see anything.

I’m grateful for any assistance!

What you show is exactly how things should look with Ghost turned on. Turn Ghost off for the alternate transparency display method. (It’s right under the Transp button)

Thanks for the reply, aurick!

That’s the problem — when i turn transparency off, NOTHING is visible on my canvas at all. Sorry if I didn’t explain clearly.

I had this problem also. The only thing I could do was go back to previous save.

I cannot think what could be causing what you’re describing.

What happens if you try launching ZBrush with startup items disabled? This is done by double-clicking (PC) or clicking (Mac) to launch ZBrush, then immediately holding Shift until the launch completes. Now check to make sure that the Zplugin palette is mostly empty. Then try loading your model and testing to see what happens. If the problem goes away, it’s one of your ZStartup items that’s to blame and you can troubleshoot from there.

Another thing to try would be to disable your Custom UI by renaming it. It’s the CustomUserInterface4R2.cfg file, found in your ZStartup folder. Move it out of the folder or temporarily rename it to something else (such as XCustomUserInterface4R2.cfg). Now launch ZBrush and see if the problem is gone. In that case, one of the settings in your UI has a problem.
