Help! CurveQuadFill brush crashes all the time!

When using the CurveQuadFill Brush with Activity Symmetry on, xyz radial count 5 or more it crashes so much.
I am on a mac pro running snow leopard. I have 10 GB ram. Any suggestions??
thanks
Karen

Must be a Mac thing. I’m on PC and mine is OK.

Correction: If I’m zoomed in close before I draw the curve, it will crash. If I’m zoomed out like in the pic above, it is OK.

Hi,
I have not zoomed in, just have mine like yours is. If I make the brush size small it crashes, maybe too much mesh?
Karen

Maybe memory leak that cause crashing. We need Zbrush 64-bit.

Same here.

Drawing curves with symmetry is causing a crash
(radial symmetry in my case)
Doesn’t matter which curve brush.

I experienced: The closer you come to the canvas sides, the more likely it will crash.
I can repeat this crash with 100% success.

System:
Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit (not only MAC OS  )
Xeon 3,2 GHZ
12 Gig Ram
Quadro 4000

Yes, that is exactly what is happening to me…!

It seems that there are not so much people using the curve brush with symmetry, Karen?

For me, there is no difference in zooming out. Just the crash looks different.
Would love to use it more often. But it’s like playing with fire.

I have also found that the smaller the brush size the more chance of a crash.

You might be asking too much of ZBrush to do all that in one go. Try achieving the same end result with more than one step or a different approach.

This seems to be a workaround!
Radialcount 16 and curve step around 1 is working without crash so far.

Thanks zber2!

Btw. almost not crashing

Still same in 4r3 :frowning:

Just wondering if the problem has been reported to engineering? You more experienced guys can probably describe it better than I could.

thanks for testing and helping!!
