Help= Curve mode snapshot and max points function in 4R4 don't do anything???

I’ve been exploring the curve mode recently, and the max points and snapshot seem to be the only ones that i can’t tell what they do. The “max points” option in 4R3 definitely help out putting more instances of the same alpha applied along the curve so that there are no gaps in between when i increase it. However, in R4, it doesn’t do anything whether i put it a low or high value. Usually, the curve step, and curveedit radius, and clicking on the curve to apply the stroke based on view distance is all you need to control how many instances of the alpha are applied. The only problem with this is what if i wanted to apply a big alpha with few instances along a very windy curve. I find i cannot do this, since if i increase the curve step to draw out a windy curve, more instances of the alpha will be applied along the stroke, not less. I was hoping the “max points” option would give me that control.

Apart from this, i have no idea how to use the “snapshot” feature of curve mode.

Alright, figured out what snapshot was finally for. Still can’t understand what max points does though under curve mode.

Also anyone know what happened to “soft curve” under mulitmesh modifier settings. I saw in the pixologic site video tutorial that option is there, but i dont see it in my version of R4?

I also can’t seem to remove or empty a tool inside the modifier slot under “brush modifiers”. Like when i select the curve quad brush, and want to remove the tool inside its modifier slot that i put in there so that it is empty.
