Help:brush spacing problem

hi guys,

this has been bugging me for quite a while, but is there anyway i can adjust the spacing for my brushes in r3?

I had been reading a lot tutorials lately and most of them used claytube extensively… the problem i have wiht the claytube brush is that i can’t get the result i see from those tutorials since the alpha from the claytube will stay too far apart if i move a bit too fast… This will add up and make the scene very messy as i stroke more… This is generally the same as other brushes, just not as visible as the claytube…

Those tutorials i watched doesn’t seem to have that problem as the spacing between those alphas are pretty close to each other even when the user was sketching at a pretty fast speed (without condensing the video speed). This would let the claytube leave behind a finer texture, something i can’t seem to achieve for weeks…

I know some people use lazymouse, and it helps to certain degree but i kinda hate the delay you get from it. Does anyone have an answer on brush spacing? it’s really bugging me :C

thx in advance.

did you try freehand instead of dot?

Hey there,

try this: Go to Stroke Menu. Switch on Lazy Mouse, go to Lazy Step and set it to the lowest possible value (not zero), drop the Lazy Radius to 1 and Lazy Smooth to 0.

That’s it. Happy sculpting.

Alternatively you can change the spacing setting as well within the stroke menu.

Hope that helps.

you are just life saving !! I was going to go back to 3.1 because of this reason but the brush is working fine now!

o just one question tho, how can i change the spacing setting? for some reason i can’t select the spacing setting in my stroke menu… :C

for who knows what reason they disabled being able to change the stroke settings for freehand/dots which forces you to use the lazy mouse spacing settings.
good luck, hope you don’t get all the lazymouse crashes.
