Help: 3D Model-- Displacement Map or OBJ Export?

Hello, I’m new of all of about five minutes. So hello, all, firstly :wink:

Now here it goes with the question:
Been wanting to try my hand a Zbrush for while… Couple questions…

I’m a Maya user. Say I have a rigged, skinned, 3D model that I wanted to fine tune as far as details go… (freckles, wrinkles, etc)

Can I bring in the geo, sculpt, and then import back w/o having to re-skin/re-rig, etc? Would the work done in Zbrush be read as a map applied onto the geo, instead of being actual poly-geo???

How do I go about doing that as far as export/import options? Export as a Displacement map and apply in Maya as a Displacement? If so, what are the most accurate export options?

Displacement Map-- Is this the route most go for fine-tuing a 3D character?
