hdrop’s thread

Ah. Yes rendering hair takes some time. I don’t use fur as I don’t think it looks realistic. Since Cinema4D R10.5 hair supports multi processing so it is MUCH faster then before. I find that it’s mainly the sub surface scattering effect that slows renders down. The next release of Cinema could realy do with an improved sss shader!

Cool design. Bottom lip looks odd imo.

The bottom lip is the only thing that strikes you as odd? LOL. The character itself is odd… which, regardless, is still pretty cool looking.

Nice work. Does look a little like the character from LOTR.

Teeth sculpt is great! :+1: !

Pfffew. It has been a long time since I posted someting here.
I’ve been busy with all kinds of things. Unfortumately not to much ZBrush.
But hopefully that is going to change now.
I started a new image. And yes, it’s a girl… again…. I started with the base mesh that I created earlier (see my first posts in this thread). But I redid the head, feet, hands and most of the torso. (As one does. Why do I always redo things that seemed ok before?)
Over all I’m happy with it, but I would like some feedback please on proportions and such. I know that the right wrist and the left arm are a bit wonky as I have not corrected them enough after transposing. I’m not happy with the pose yet, so I’m going to transepose her a bit more.

Hey, Hdrop. You made a real nice start with this model. As you mentioned, the hands are looking rough. Maybe the face (nice loops) could be more feminal?
The pose, I think the position of the upperbody should be more above the right leg (standbeen they call here)
Cheers, Bas

Hey Bas. Thanks for your reply. I spent a long time refining the edgeloops. Next time I’ll add some more around the elbows and legs. Those area’s are a little to low poly. What should I change in the face to make her look more feminine? I noticed that her brows are a little strong.

Maybe more ‘babyface’? More meat/fat on the cheeks, nose just a bit more short? The head (mybe perspective) looks a bit big.
Mostly a female looks more soft and gently (wich you did with the lower part of the body).
Hahaha, you did a lot of point-pushing with that belly button
BTW, I love the masked deamon! Geil ding

Jawline seems rather heavy. Female jawbones are more delicate and smaller.

Nice work on the body.

Finally finished.

This is Salome. My goal was to create an image of one of histories most infamous seductresses. Salome was a favourite subject among artists from the second half of the nineteenth century and th early twentieth century.
The theatrical pose, coulour palet and composition of the image are intended to evoke the atmosphere of paintings from that time in history.

I created a basemesh for the body in Cinema4D and sculpted and posed it in ZBrush. Her bra, panties and belt wer also modelled from Cinema base meshes that were detailed in ZBrush. The same goes for the severed head of John the Baptist.
All the rest was modelled in Cinema 4D.

Al texturing was done with BodyPaint and Photoshop.

Thanks for watching!

Excellent!!!

awesome work!
perfect final result.

Beautiful colors and texturing! Did you render it in ZBrush or C4D? :+1:

@Bas Mazur It’s a Cinema render.

Her are some actual size bits from the image.

Great render!! Always difficult to render a skin in C4D.

Beautiful work + render i like all your work:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

I think you did a really good job on the painterly look. Beautiful render.

Very nice image. Did you use cloth dynamics on that bit of cloth she’s holding? That looks like it would be a pain to shape manually.

@dustinbrown Yep, both the scarf and skirt are cloth sim in Cinema4D.
The hair on John’s head and the hanging jewlery from the bra and skirt are done with hair simulation.

incredible work :+1:
did you use sss for these renders, especially on the teeth model?
