hd displacement

First, I apologize that this subject has probably been answered 6 times over. I tried searching but it won’t let me us HD in search because it is too small.

I know in 3.5 HD has been drastically improved (which rocks). Can I export some of the detail in displacement map yet? Or is this still not possible? I read in the new features list for 3.5 that hd painting is improved so I’m assuming that color can be exported also?

thanks !

Geometry HD, improved Displacement and Normal Maps

With the improved HD Geometry, which now supports PolyPainting, your sculpting can have as much fine detailing, as you want – up to 1 billion polygons! Then when you have finished sculpting and painting, use the new improved Displacement and Normal map export features. With built-in HD Geometry support, it’s a snap to take all that amazing detail out of ZBrush for use in your favorite rendering engine.

Yes, both HD Geometry & polypaint can be included in maps:

Thanks very much richard and marcus.

edit:

Marcus, it says

“The creation of a Texture map which includes the HD Polypaint is the same as a traditional texture maps, except that the HD Geometry slider must be at the maximum value and the Geometry Subdivision slider most also be at the highest level. When the map is created ZBrush will capture all HD polypaint to be applied to the Texture Map.”

How can I accomplish this? It won’t let me capture a displacement map if the slider is at the highest level of subd. Is that a typo or is there a workaround?

Thanks again.

Edit 2: sorry your second link explained that it needs to be on the lowest subd number along with highest hd slider.
