Having trouble running DYNAMIC SIMNULATION over a sharp edged subtool

I am trying to run a dynamic simulation of a piece of cloth over a pointed star but it keeps “cutting through” the sharp points and edges. Are there any parameters that may prevent this?
Thank you!

Hello @jfrivasv ,

No, there is no magic button for this sadly. It will take artistry. This is a difficult scenario because the initial points of the mesh that make contact with the star will stretch and distort out of shape. If the mesh polygons stretch out of shape, the cloth won’t be able to hold the shape of the underlying mesh and will clip through it.

You won’t be able to do this in a single action without guiding the process. Use the Transpose Cloth brush for greater control over the process, and mask the points you want to stay anchored on the star points as you lower it. Try to keep the polygons at the top of the start from stretching too far out of shape compared to the rest of the mesh.

Thanks for your advice SPYNDEL. I will try your suggestions and work around the obstacles of this peculiar challenge.
