Have trouble trimming surfaces with the 3D Cube Primitive > Dynamesh technique

Hi all… I’m having trouble with the technique for trimming edges of a mesh to a flat surface with the 3D Cube Primitive > Dynamesh technique.

Basically, I append a 3D Cube to my model as a separate Subtool. I turn Dynamesh on. I move the cube under the subtool I want to trim, and make sure to turn on the cut-into circle icon in the Cube’s subtool palette. I merge down and Dynamesh, but the cube doesn’t disappear and cut into the mesh. The cube remains…sigh. I’ve followed different tutorials with the same pointer, and yet I don’t get the result.

Anyone have any tips or pointers? Kind thanks in advance!

You have to press ctrl and drag (to dynamesh) once you dynamesh you will get the subtraction.

Thanks friend! Yes, just figured that part out, lol. I also had the cut-into circle icon activated in the wrong subtool level.

LOL, ok.
