Have to sculpt trees and wood... need help

Hello everybody
My name is Oliver, I’m a ZBrush user since a while, but not very experienced yet.
For a job, I have to sculpt several tree trunks, stems inkl. detailed bark.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any useful alphas to use for that.
The main shape is not a problem, but for the structure details, I need several good bark alphas.
Does anyone now where I could find some?
Or does somebody have a few he would like to share with the community?

Thanks a lot,
Oliver

You can pull it off without alphas, and with those default ones as well, if you think they will not suffice, go to pixologic.com under downloads there are loads of alphas. And if that doesn’t help, make your own, take a tree bark picture desaturate it, and play with leves/brightness/contrast, or just hand paint the alpha which can simulate the needed texture.

Piece of advice: it doesn’t have to be a tree bark alpha to create tree bark texture, ti can be a skin alpha, it can be a rust alpha etc.

Good luck!

you tried the alpha library?
