Hate on the Brain WIP

Thank you for you comments.

Eric, I cannot even start a sculpt without eyes looking at me. It is alway my first subtool.

Derek, would call it symbiosis, who knows…thanks

Hmphhh, Thank you. I did go both route to the point when I did not know what I liked anymore, I settled for this more saturated look. Should probably wait a couple of weeks and revisit it.

Joshua, Did catch the humor in your post after a quick google search on the character, did not remember who he was. thanks.

wow, I love the progress that I have watched on this. I take it you used fibers for the alien? If you did, any chance you could do a tutorial how you did them?

Continuing on this saga. Here is the next victim from last night’s sculpt. If anyone has recommendations on the boy’s anatomy, I would greatly appreciate it (hand and feet not modeled yet, wanted to secure the form of the body first). Added short pants for obvious reasons but would email an image without if someone is willing to draw a couple of pointers. Thanks.

PS, love the Demetz cube.

Adio, I never really used the fiber material before and do not feel qualified to do a tutorial. However, I’ll tell you what I did. The key is to fill you object with your base material of choice, then paint the fiber material where you want it. I used the standard brush with spray and make sure that M was on. For the look of the fibers, in the material settings, play with the settings on S1, they are pretty self explanatory. Finally when you render, make sure you click on Fiber in the render tab.

hope this helps.

HAving difficulties finding references for 10-13 yo child. any suggestions on the proposed proportions. thanks.

Try MakeHuman. Free program. Basically creates a human model which you can set parameters for such as weight, gender, age, etc.

thanks pro, had a look at it. But not very convincing when it comes to anatomically correct references.

Look through these Loomis books.

Thanks Blaine, I was hoping for something a little more detailed as far as surface anatomy. Will manage, thanks for the help.

Trying to come up with a tableau for the second image in this series, this is the result… Reminds me of one of my favorite comic Ranxerox by Liberatore and Tamburini. This was obviously not my intention. But like the look of the fat character and his head creature. The boy looks like the leader of this band of minions. So I will go where this sculpt takes me. In any case, Series are for artists, I knew I could not pull it off.

Dude, you’re too hard on yourself. It’s looking great; I’m a RanXerox fan too, and I didn’t really think of that as a ref until you mentioned it!

Only thing here would be the focus of your piece, but just keep the fatman and creature shadowy…

Great work here, really enjoyed looking through your thread! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

LOL, this is great work :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks Rawsunlight. Dug out some Ranxerox to refresh my memory, forgot how controversial his work was. I did found it interesting that after posing these two characters that is the first thing that came to my mind. I have a couple of ideas for these guys and will post as soon as it is more developed (still fleshing it out).

thanks masterpiece.

started to work on the detail of the face and expression. Still a WIP expression01.jpg
