Harrison Ford head - 2 nights

I made this a year ago in 2 nights from one of the base head meshes by Ahn Nguyen. It was sculpting practice in likeness/iconic features. All done with a mouse. It was good fun

The mesh isn’t very dense as you can probably tell from the hair section.

First of all, get rid of your mouse in ZBrush, buy a tablet if you haven’t already. If you can do this with your mouse, you can do wonders with a pen.

The slightly askew nose is what makes him Ford. Good work :+1:

Ok. I agree with Bimm… get yourself a tablet, you will do some amazing work. I can’t beleive you got this far with a mouse.

Great work, you can totally make out who it is.

thats cool stuff. Iv always used a mouse in zbrush is it realy that much better?

Thanks for the comments guys! Honestly I have never tried a tablet seriously. I always stuck to my mouse and did all my Zsculpts with it. I also experimented doing fast paintings in photoshop with the mouse. Its carpal tunnelish but its fun for about 20 minutes haha.

Mouse brutality. Here are a couple examples.

Nice model, looks like him.

Who can afford one of those “Wacom tablets” to draw on?
I have used the mouse from day one and still do.
The mouse has a feel similiar to an airbrush in terms of the way your hand uses gestures. My 2cents.

leadheaded, great work, especially with a mouse! Get yourseld a tablet, one of the best investments you’ll make in this industry. Yes you can adapt yourself to a mouse, but it is not efficient or natural. The fluidity you gain wil open up your creativity and speed up workflow - especially if you put the same time into it as you have clearly done with a mouse!!

odhinn buddy, you are on drugs! The tablet rocks, the Cintiq’s rock more! Yeah it’s money, but it is also productivity. Time is money. The wacom’s also have an airbush (pen), but you can use the everyday pen input the same way.

Yea ive tried those tablets and theyre super awkward if you havent used one before. i have just been using my mouse. i just got zbrush so im going to try with that for a while. whats a good size/brand to get if u were to get one??

Bones

Get a tablet. The mouse is nothing compared to the natural feel of the tablet. Dont torture yourself. Trust me on this.

Good work anyaway.

I don’t doubt the superioirty of the tablet. Everyone at work uses it. I am just apprehensive of trying to adjust to a new tool  I think I will buy one in the near future.

By the way, I tried a Cintiq at GDC. That is pretty hot. Drawing right on the screen makes a lot of sense logically. Do people use a Cintiq for ZBrush here? Would be a fairly expensive investment
