Hardware questions for Zbrush

Sup guys. Im building a new computer here soon and plan to try out either Zbrush or Mudbox and I just wanted to know how well zbrush would run on the hardware im looking at. System will have a I7 920 with 12gigs of ram on Win7 and likely one of the following video cards. Gtx 295, 285 or Radeon 5970. Ive read a little bit and have seen people saying that Zbrush dosnt realy make use of your video card, is this true? Can you have a highly detailed scene that you can still navigate around and work with just as easily on older hardware as newer cards? If so, are my proc/ram good enough that if I do get serious about zbrush they could handle a higher poly scene? Finaly, if video cards do matter for zbrush, which of those 3 would be better, gaming is also important to me but im mainly wanting to make sure i get the best i can from zbrush with the gaming gfx card i buy. Thanks for any replies and later

Regarding the graphics card, ZBrush is software rendered rather than hardware rendered. So it uses your CPU for the rendering instead of your GPU. That’s why the fast, multi-core processor is recommended.

Cool, so I can pretty much pick whatever graphics card I want based on the gaming performance I want instead of worrying about it being ok for zbrush.
Will the i7 920 be good enough to handle zbrush? Planning on OCing the proc also but not sure how much higher I will get it yet. Stock i7 920 be ok though otherwise?
