Hard-surface workflow. Help/Tutorial?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post… I start with a question for you, pros.

I’m learning Zbrush and I’m still quite a newbie. I was studying some hard surface techniques in order to make a mid-detailed character, the chubby mech you see in the image below.
I worked on it with dynamesh but now I’m stuck. In an average workflow what are the next steps? Separating the “armor” pieces? With what technique?

Are there any tutorials out there that could help me?

Uh… this are actually more than “a question”.
Thank you all
Ed

1) The Tutorials forum is NOT for posting questions. We don’t want the tutorials to get lost among the clutter of questions. I have moved your thread to the Questions & Troubleshooting forum.

  1. Did you look before you posted? Just a few threads down from yours was this one: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?182980-VIDEO-Hard-surface-In-Zbrush The title of the thread even states that it’s for hard surface!

  2. Also see here: http://pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/#digital-sculpting

  1. ok, sorry for that. I thought this forum was for ASKING FOR tutorials as well. I must admit that it should be clearer, since the Q&T Forum seems to be dedicated to software related issues only.

  2. many of the tutorials posted in the Tutorials forum focus more on sculpting than in what to do next to it (separating the pieces from a dynames model, polypainting etc.). This is why I decided to post my specific question. But I’ll follow your advice and search better.

  3. thanks.
