Well, I sculpted a bird covered with feathers. Large feathers are modelled in Maya, but for “small” feathers, I tried to use FiberMesh. I tested for hair yet, it was not bad, but here, there a problem.
I’ve created several “sets” of fibers : on the wings, shoulders, thighs, torso, etc …
Which gave me more freedom in variations of plumage.
However, if I can get a first start up fast enough, now, I have some problem that “imbed” option can not completely controlled, that is : these feathers hair.
Indeed, the classic Brushes have a VERY annoying tendency to twist feathers, due to the principle that these feathers are guided by curves.
As a result : even with the best will, my feathers are turning all the time.
My question : which is the effective method to prevent the twist of these curves, or is there a better method ?
