I recently collaborated with INTEL as an Artist Ambassador. The project’s purpose was to showcase INTEL’s capabilities for advanced digital artist careers. For the project, I created this portrait I call The Hypergiant.
In creating the Hypergiant I channeled the idea of a Red Hypergiant star as a type of goddess or entity. I wanted her to feel like the largest RED entity in the known universe, and I kept that thought as my main inspiration throughout the project. I tried to add as many synonyms for RED in the image to build out her character. A great challenge was keeping everything as red as possible but giving the different assets a different feeling so they would pop.

INTEL gifted me with a new computer for the project which is more powerful than any machine I’ve used professionally or personally. So a lot of the project was me pushing the machine to see how far I could go. It was a great and intense process. I used ZBrush, Substance Painter, Mari, Marvelous Designer, Maya, Vray.
