Hi,
We created this character study during the last couple of weeks – spontaneous and on a gut level. The aim was to develop a hairy character including story and to present a high res turnaround and a low res games model turnaround. We worked on two laptops, thus polycount, render settings and used layers were limited.
The Guards were breeded as a crossing from humanoid and bat embryos. In the course of embryonic modifications and genetically engineering rites they became more and more anthropoid creatures.
The wings are remains of their original form of appearance, by now they don’t serve the purpose of flying but help with jumping and climbing. The Guards move on cliffy ground and mountains, the segmented claws help them to climb steep walls and remain there for hours and days to be on the lookout. According to their mission their eyes contain arrays of adjustable lenses.
On flat ground they move like crows; the feet horns are equipped with muscle packages on their upper ends which work as suspensions.
