GroupsLoops problem: new and existing

Hello!

I’m experiencing a problem where I’ve polypainted my mesh, then pressed ‘polygroups from polypaint’ and then chosen ‘groupsloops’.

So far so good, my problem starts here:

When I polypaint new forms onto my mesh, polygroup them, I get double
groupsloops on my existing polygroups.

I realise that this problem might not be caused by groupsloops, but I’ve tried clean out my polypaint and afterwards painting, but didn’t yield what I wanted.

Any tips are welcome, both technical and workflow related!

Could you show some images? I’m not really understanding what you’re describing.

if i understand you mean the second time you hit grouploops its adding more loops to your previous polygroups, which is what it should do. you need to polygroup the whole tool after the first time, then add your second polypainted grouploops.
or you’re still using the old polypaint from the first time and creating groups again, either way you need to “clean your slate” for the second run, by clearing polypaint and polygrouping the whole tool.
