Off to a good start, I like this character. Watch for the thickness if things! Comic book characters need to be hyper real so make everything BOLD!!

Really like this so far.

Particularly like the subtle modeling details such as the muscle flow and the veins.

Nice character! I noticed a few things that you might want to change. The upper arm is too long (or the fore arm too short) in the middle image.
The bags on his belt are too small.

Wow good to see one of my favorite comic characters on here… not many people know Grifter…

I think the “action” you are wanting to feel will come along when you do the coat… Grifter’s duster is very expresive in terms of how it is drawn in the comics, they seem to realy use it well to convay his motion…

I would love to see it once you get the coat on there… other then that it is a great start…

edit: Hmmm sorry I just noticed that in your reference pics they are not drawing him with his duster anymore… boo to this I always felt that was such a great part of the character… maybe you can find some older references that have the coat…

thank you for your comments.

hdrop- thank you very much for your input and i will make those changes before the next update, im sorry i didnt read it before this one.

SKA-T2- ya im sorry about the coat, he wil not have one. This version is more based on the newer concept of him in the dc version by travis.

Ah understood… it is looking very nice… The folds of the pants are looking great, very natural and fluid… can’t wait to see this one finished…

I would very much like some input on this. I am trying to finish this high poly as soon as possible. any input at all on improving the piece would be great.

Id like to hear whether you like the taller or shorter proportions. I have been back and forth on the issue forever.

nice fabric work. the legs look a little small however.

small as in thin?

and thank you. I think I am going to go a tad closer to the earlier screen of the fabric coming back on the forum and seeing it again makes me like it.

The vest looks really cool. Well, the whole model does.
I especially like the way that you´ve modelled the arms + ellbows.
You did a great job! :+1: :+1: :+1:
I hope you´re going to textur him–?

Hi truedeja! Sorry I can’t give you any critiques - you’re doin’ a great job on that sculpt! :+1: !

Hey True
Its really difficult to compare the two because you need to scroll between them each time. they dont both fit on the screen.
but if i had to pick one i would pick the bottom one. the one with the longer legs. He looks less stubby and more like the comic book character that he is.

Keep up the great work! Look forward to seeing the finished piece!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Great work! Especially the facemask. I do agree, though, about arms and legs.

The legs are too skinny, I think. The knees are in an ok position, but the legs don’t bulk out enough on the upper thigh as seen from the front. That is, they should round out more and curve down, and the widest point should be where the mid thigh mark is. On the inside, more bulk higher up would maybe help.

Biceps definitely a bit too long. Forearm is normally longer than upper arm. When at rest, elbow should be between belly button and bottom of ribcage in most people. With arms lifted a bit like that, it should be even higher up.

I like the taller/thinner proportions better, but it might look different if you make changes to arms and legs.

I think the arms are fine, the legs feel a bit short, and there’s a weird bowing at the knees that makes them look a bit awkward. But other than, its coming along really well. :+1:
