Griffen Low Relief Panel

Dear NG:

Just whipped up another low relief panel in about 10 minutes for use on a piece of furniture.

Thank you ZB2. Comments welcome.

Cheers.

Hey Steevo!

Looks really cool. What would be the best is if you could post the actual piece once it has been created. I’m sure there is a lot of people that would be interested (including me) to see the final product. I do believe that you are one of the only people (that I know of at least) working with Zbrush in this manner…

Cool! I agree with Meats in the posting up a pic of final product for us to see. I for one would be very interested!

Hey Steevo,

This is cool, I’d like to see finished work.
Could you describe your process?

I did something similar to this a while back…
Below is a detail.

The little things are always cool. A couple years back in an earlier version of Zbrush we must have generated quite a few objects this way for an animated series. It makes life much simpler.

Dear NG:

Here is a small example of how ZBrush is improving the workflow of my furniture product development process. Someone requested to see a little more of my process in one of the previous threads. Here goes…

I have rendered here a “demi-lune” hall console. The console is ornamented with an oval “medallion” that I modeled and rendered in ZBrush. The piece of furniture was created and rendered in Rhino / Flamingo. A scaled mesh was exported to Z2 where I used TextureMaster to add the details to the base mesh. Due to the fact that other 3d programs to not handle the dense meshes yet as well as Z2, I just export the texture map and “slick-as-a-whistle” render the nurbs medallion with the ZBrush texture for the complete render of the console - which Rhino/Flamingo can process in a decent amount of time.

However, here, the detailed image of the medallion is exported directly to Photoshop for the drop shadow and any additional details, etc.

Besides getting all the artwork, I also get a detailed mesh that I can send to any 3D printer company and have a full scale sample by the next afternoon.

Amazing!

Comments welcome.

Oh, that Griffin is soooo good! It looks like a photographic detail. Is the texture a paint effect or a metal moulding?
