It’s so calming! Another powerful artwork!
I have a question. How do You start to draw the portrait ? with reliefing to use a 3d model you sphere or making something from scratch on plane
Maybe look here >> http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?181035-Some-kind-of-effect-that-shows-a-grey-scale-view-of-my-sculp&highlight=Bas+relief
Max, Thank You, Bro! Always happy. Happy NY U!
Doug Jones, Thanks for the information. It is very informative.
hulki, Thank you for your question. I use to “Extract” on the plane. And then sculpt (I do everything by hand).
Something like this.
Thanks for explaining, Lexxx69
Thank you, Doug Jones!
Small upgrade. Customer asked to remove glare in her eyes.
And to make the visualization to show his customer an approximate result.
respect!
Thanks a lot Lexxx69 for your greetings! (more than that I’m 30 today))) Interesting making process!!!
Max, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Be well, my friend!
Much appreciate! I will!
a beautiful piece:-). thinking off the presentation as wood relief, from my experience, it does not convince as woodcarning. the sculpt looks like a bronze casting or similar. why? because, even sanded woodcarvings (good ones however are rarely sanded smooth but cut smooth) show distinct faint traces of the carving chisels and gouges. and, this is used to its advantage, for example on folds. … not critique, but sharing info that i hope might be useful in future projects… as said, beatiful piece
Kokoro, thank you for your attention to my work.
I have already said that all models of bas-reliefs what I made - it’s for CNC milling machines.
And this is very different from the hand-made woodcarving. Here’s an example.

I is not very good at doing render “a la wood”.
Hehe.
So … Bronze!

thank you for explaining. i see your presentation is very true to what your customer gave you as guidelines… your work is so beautiful, i really would love to take my chisels, and cut in in the final product, the crispness a handcarved relief would have…lol…good work my friend, and your customer will be happy i am sure. you did a great job.
Kokoro, Thank you, my friend! Pleasant words of encouragement from You.
Sincerely, Leonid.
Excellent …Beautiful work
Wishes for a Peaceful and Happy New Year by the way…
