Hi zbrushers,

Admittedly I’m a frequent lurker. I had been working at 3D Realms for the past four years and unfortunately all Duke Nukem Forever stuff is top secret, so I had nothing to openly share.

Though I don’t post often, I am consistently amazed at the quality of artists here. You guys are an inspiration.

Anyway, I’m no longer at 3D Realms and cranked out a number of new things in the past few months that I’d like to contribute.

Everything’s on my site @ www.3dprofessional.com including some pretty cool animations!

But for a teaser, I’m attaching a few images below…

This guy was done almost entirely in zbrush. Base model was max, but did all model detail and texturing in zbrush. Environment and animation was Max as well.Char_BoundDemon01_sm.jpg

This girl’s body details had a zbrush pass. The rest, including animations were done with max.

Base model max. Details, zbrush w/ a small bump map for good measure.

Body, pants, and head were zbrush (base model max). Body and head texturing was w/ Zbrush. Used Zmapper for the head. Thanks for that plugin!!! I’m also thankful to the heapin’ helping of tutorials available on here. Great stuff.

Just wow!

All of your models are sweet. But damn that Punisher is just incredible. Is the hair on him sculpted or simulated in Max? Really great work. So, the Duke is still coming?!!! :eek: Whoa, I thought that game was shelved long ago.

im new and would like to know if both zbrush and 3d max r expensive sofware, and do u need a powerful computer to run it, thanks. it really is awesome

It’s mostly texture work, relying mostly on bump and diffuse. It could work in a game with no problems. Here’s a breakdown of the elements:

Heck yeah, Bradstreet was a pretty hefty influence for the hair and face. Tried to capture a bit of the Mike Zeck craziness in the eyes and eyebrows. And the armor was inspired (but heavily modified) by Klaus Janson’s makeshift armor from Punisher unlimited #2 (thought the metal chest plate w/ spray paint was cool as a kid and it stuck with me).

Damn…that Robotic chick is great, the demon is beyond words and that model is in-game? Daaaaaaaaaaamn…speechless. There are a lot of really talented artists in Dallas, always notice that on CGTalk…maybe I live in the wrong town!!
